Have you ever tried Havening? It’s a simple, self-soothing technique designed to help reduce anxiety by calming your nervous system. Here’s how to try it:
- Gently rub your arms from shoulders to elbows in a soothing, downward motion.
- Do this for 1-2 minutes while focusing on something positive or neutral (like counting or visualizing a peaceful place).
- Allow yourself to feel safe and calm as the sensation of touch helps lower your brain’s response to stress.
This touch-based technique helps reduce anxiety by reprocessing stressful memories and calming your body’s fight-or-flight response.
