Vanessa Birch

 B.I.S.W., M.I.S.W., R.S.W.

Hi, my name is Vanessa and I consider myself a strength-based, trauma-informed care, talk therapist.

I received my Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree as well as my Master of Indigenous Social Work degree through First Nations University of Canada.

I offer EMDR therapy as one of my therapeutic approaches.

I believe in the Two-eyed Seeing Method, combining both Western ways of knowing as well as Indigenous ways of knowing. When I first meet someone, I believe in having conversations and letting them lead the way as they know themselves better than I do. So please, come sit, and let’s start a conversation.

A little bit about myself: I am a mother, daughter, partner, aunty, and friend. I am a tattoo and motorcycle enthusiast. If I am not out riding my 2008 Harley Street Bob, you can find me teaching others how to ride. I love teaching, helping others be the best versions of themselves, and learning. I don’t think we are ever done learning.

I work with Adults and Youth 13+.

I specialize in the following:

  •  Abuse – victims of sexual, physical or emotional. As well as the parents/caregivers of an abused child
  • Addictions
  • Anger Management
  • Anxiety
  • Burnout
  • Depression
  • EMDR Therapy
