Wendy Monks-Janzen
M.A., Registered Psychologist (Provisional)
Hey, I’m Wendy! I am a Registered Psychologist (Provisionally) with my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and BA in Child and Youth Care Counselling.
When working with clients, my eclectic approach to counselling primarily involves Person-Centred, Solution-Focused, Ecological, and Cognitive-Behavioural modalities. I love assisting my clients in finding their path to recognize their inner strengths and resiliency and build the skills to adapt their introspection and growth in ways that best support their desired life.
I am passionate about working with adults, children, youth and their families, who are navigating a path to managing mental well-being, stress reduction, and building on the relational connections that aid in steps toward life balance. I genuinely believe that all of my clients already have the skills to navigate their struggles, and the path during therapy is to support them in their discovery of how they can utilize their strengths to restore happiness and contentment.
I value a mindfully minimalistic and simplistic lifestyle that allows me to make meaning in everyday moments with my beloved family, friends, and community. My time is dedicated to appreciating my life with my spouse, children, dogs, and close loved ones, grounding myself in yoga, and retreating to the locations or in nature that bring inner happiness and calmness. I am fond of all things with gardening, enjoying the fresh air, cooking and baking, laughing, and sharing these with others, which brings me inner joy.
If booking a session for a child, please note I require the first session to be parent/caregiver only to ensure the most positive outcome for your child.
